MEMORY VERSE: For a tree there is always hope. Chop it down and it still has a chance— its roots can put out fresh sprouts. Job 14:7
Job and his wife Lived in Uz.
Job had seven sons and 3 daughters all grown with families of their own.
Job had much land and livestock and men to help him work.
Job loved God and worshipped God everyday.
One day, the devil said to God, "You have blessed Job and given him everything is the only reason Job worships you. If you would take away your blessings, Job would no longer praise you."
God said to the devil, “Do what you want to all that Job has but do not touch him."
The devil left God and began his evil work.
Job went through a rough time. He had lost all his wealth, his children in one day.
His friends and wife wondered what was wrong with him. They accused him of hidden sin against God. His wife even advised him to curse God and die.
They couldn't see how else such terrible things could happen to one person all at once.
Despite all they said, Job was determined that he had served God as faithfully as he could.
He surrendered himself to God, to have mercy on him, because he knew the same way God could destroy with a blink of His eye, the same way God could make anything He chooses to start a NEW LIFE from almost nothing.
That was why Job said in Job14:7 'When a tree is chopped down, there is always the hope that it will sprout again.' (CEV)
He believed as long as he was alive, there was still hope for him. He had come to depend on God so much up till his tragedy.
Finally, God returned his fortune that had been taken away by the devil.
God gave Job twice as much as he had in the beginning.
Can we have hope like Job did?
